Update to RCH Water Restrictions

We have been monitoring and getting levels back to acceptable levels and still had usage past midnight last night but was a vast improvement. Also, during the past weeks all pumps having been running at same time almost nonstop to keep up with the massive usage.
So, starting Sunday at 8pm we will resume schedule of Stage 2 that was in place. This means hours of 8-12 only and no lawn irrigation after midnight.
If irrigation of lawns happens after set hours then Stage 3 will immediately go into effect and large fines will be given to those not following the rules during any stage moving forward beginning next week.

News from RCH Water Supply: Urgent Reminder: Compliance with Stage 2 Water Restrictions

News from RCH Water Supply: Urgent Reminder: Compliance with Stage 2 Water Restrictions

Date: Jun 30, 2024

Dear RCH Members,

This is a critical reminder about the mandatory Stage 2 water restrictions currently in place. We continue to see a concerning spike in water usage over the past several nights, indicating that some members are not adhering to the permitted times and days for running irrigation systems.

Please remember the following rules for landscape irrigation:

  • Irrigation is only permitted between 8:00 p.m. and midnight on designated days.
  • Even-numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8): Sundays and Thursdays
  • Odd-numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, 9): Saturdays and Wednesdays

These restrictions are essential to manage our water resources effectively. Non-compliance could result in fines and will trigger the immediate implementation of the even more restrictive Stage 3 water restrictions.

We must work together to avoid further limitations and ensure our community’s water supply is used responsibly.

Your cooperation is vital. Please adhere to these rules and help us conserve water. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Urgent News from RCH Water Supply: Immediate Compliance with Stage 2 Water Restrictions Required Date: Jun 27, 2024

Dear RCH Members,

I am writing to address a critical issue regarding the recent extreme spike in water usage over the past several nights. This alarming increase indicates that some members of our community are not adhering to the Stage 2 water restrictions, specifically the permitted times for running irrigation systems.

Let me remind you of the mandatory rules for landscape irrigation under Stage 2 water restrictions:

Irrigation is only permitted between 8:00 p.m. and midnight on designated days.

  • Even-numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8): Sundays and Thursdays
  • Odd-numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, 9): Saturdays and Wednesdays

Be sure to adjust your sprinkler systems to comply with these restrictions.

These restrictions are in place to ensure the sustainability of our water supply during this period of high demand. Non-compliance is unacceptable and undermines our collective efforts to conserve water.

Failure to comply with these restrictions will result in additional, more stringent measures being imposed on the entire community as early as Friday. We must work together to avoid further limitations and ensure that our water resources are used responsibly.

Your immediate cooperation is crucial. We all have a responsibility to adhere to these rules and protect our community’s water supply. Thank you for your urgent attention to this matter.

Best regards,

Update of Stage 2 Water Restrictions Irrigation times allowed

Alert from RCH Water Supply: Update of Stage 2 Water Restrictions Irrigation times allowed

Date: Jun 23, 2024

Dear RCH Members,

##Update to the allowed irrigation times##

Permitted only between 8:00 p.m. and midnight on designated days described below.

Due to a rapid and unexpected spike in water consumption, we are forced to implement Stage 2 water restrictions effective immediately. These measures are essential to ensure the sustainability of our water supply.

Stage 2 Triggers and Requirements: Stage 2 water restrictions are initiated when our treated water reservoir levels consistently do not refill above 90 percent overnight. These restrictions will remain in place until these conditions have ceased for 14 consecutive days or until the underlying issue has been resolved.

Stage 2 Response: Our goal under Stage 2 is to reduce daily water demand by 15 percent.

Water Use Restrictions: The following water use restrictions apply to all RCH members:

  1. Landscape Irrigation Limited to Two Days Per Week
    • Sundays and Thursdays for even-numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
    • Saturdays and Wednesdays for odd-numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, 9)
    • Hand-held hoses with automatic shut-off, faucet-filled buckets (5 gallons or less), or drip irrigation systems can be used at any time.
  2. Vehicle Washing:
    • Allowed only on designated watering days using a hand-held bucket or a hand-held hose with a shutoff nozzle.
    • Washing is permitted anytime at commercial car washes or service stations.
    • Exemptions are granted for vehicles essential to public health and safety.
  3. Pool Use:
    • Filling, refilling, or adding water to pools is restricted to designated watering days between midnight and 6:00 a.m. and between 8:00 p.m. and midnight.
  4. Ornamental Fountains/Ponds:
    • Operation is prohibited except to support aquatic life or if using reclaimed water.
  5. Fire Hydrants:
    • Use is limited to firefighting, public health, safety, and welfare activities. Construction use may be allowed with a special permit.
  6. Restaurants:
    • Prohibited from serving water to patrons unless requested.
  7. Non-Essential Water Uses:
    • Washing sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other hard surfaces.
    • Washing buildings for non-fire protection purposes.
    • Dust control.
    • Flushing gutters or allowing water to run into streets.
    • Failing to repair controllable leaks after notice.
    • Prohibited activities include:

These restrictions are critical to managing our water resources effectively. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines to ensure a sustainable water supply for our community.

Thank you for your immediate attention to these measures.
