RCH Member Construction Update - May 2026
May 15, 2026
Dear RCH Members,
I’m pleased to share the latest construction update on the Take Point & Pump Station Project. The project continues to make strong progress as several major components have now been completed, and we move closer to final startup and commissioning.
Pump Station & Site Piping
Work at the pump station has advanced significantly, with the suction header and final piping connections now complete. Crews have completed installation of the 24-inch line from the ground storage tank to the suction header, backfilled the pipeline excavation, installed the pump motors, and coupled the motors to the pumps. These are major milestones that bring the pump station much closer to full operation.
Electrical & Building Systems
Electrical and building work has also continued to move forward alongside the mechanical installation, with several key activities now complete. Crews have finished pulling wire in the control room, wiring the pump motors, pulling wire for the flow meter and control valve, and installing lighting and receptacles throughout the building. These completed systems represent another important step toward operational readiness.
Meter Vault & Controls
The meter vault is now completed, and the pressure test has passed successfully. Crews completed installation of the 24-inch line from the meter vault to the ground storage tank and carried the system through testing as scheduled. The remaining related work has included the manway slabs and sidewalk areas, the risers for the valve vault, and the installation of the sample station. Flow meter verification has passed, and SCADA terminations and programming continue to move forward as the controls package is finalized.
Ground Storage Tank
The ground storage tank is also completed and has been filled for full leak testing. Final work on the tank has included dome paint, installation of remaining accessories, removal of temporary lifts, and completion of underdrain and backfill work around the tank. Filling the tank for full leak testing marks a major project milestone as we prepare the system for full integration and startup.
Looking Ahead
As we move through May and into early June, the project team is focusing on final connections, system testing, and site cleanup. As system testing is completed on-site for all Take Point components, we will begin filling and testing the first connected sections of the 20-inch transmission line, which is now entering the final phases of construction. These activities mark another important step toward full system integration, startup, and commissioning.
Thank you for your continued support and patience throughout this project. We appreciate your trust in RCH and will continue to keep you informed as we move toward completion.
Sincerely,
Robin Mayall
