Take Point & Pump Station Project Update

Dear RCH Members,

I am pleased to share a progress update on the RCH Take Point & Pump Station Project. The project remains on schedule, with critical milestones being met and preparations well underway for the next construction phases.

Key Updates:

  • Tank Construction & Procurement
The contract for the ground storage tank has been awarded to Preload, and the subcontract has been issued. Preload is currently working on required submittals, which are expected to be received in April.
Equipment procurement is progressing as planned:
    • Valves: Submittals have already been reviewed and approved NTMWD, and valves  were submitted and released for manufacturing late summer of 2024
    • Vertical Turbine Pumps: Approved and in production.
    • Electrical Equipment: The subcontract has been issued, and submittals are anticipated between February 11 and February 24.
  • Site Preparation & Construction Work
    • The civil yard package, which includes site grading, temporary road installation, and underground storage preparation, is out for bid. Final bids are due by February 13.
    • The meter vault design is 99% complete, with final design completion and approval by NTMWD expected by February 14.
    • The pump station design is in progress, with final structural and electrical components under review. Design completion remains on track for March 7.
  • Power & Permitting
    • Efforts to secure power for the site are progressing with ONCOR as planned. Temporary power is expected by April/May, with the permanent 3-phase power anticipated by the end of the year.
    • All required building permits remain on schedule:
      • Tank & Civil: Submission to Kaufman County is expected within the next week.
      • Meter Vault: Anticipated submittal by March 1.
      • Pump Station: Anticipated submittal by April 1.
  • Easements & Right-of-Way
    • The transmission line easements are 99.9% complete, meaning our path to bring more water from our take point to the RCH system is secure thus ensuring minimal delays in the next phases of construction.

The project continues to move forward efficiently and on time. We look forward to providing you with periodic updates as our project begins to take shape and appreciate your ongoing support as we work to enhance our water infrastructure.

Best regards,
