Dear RCH Members,
There has been significant online discussion claiming that RCH is supplying water to construction projects while asking our members to conserve. That information is false.
RCH is not the water supplier for the construction sites at Sonoma Verde North off Edwards Road or Sonoma Verde East off League Road. These construction projects are not the reason for, nor are they contributing to, the current water restrictions.
The restrictions are necessary because some members continue to water outside their assigned days and hours, preventing the system from rebuilding the reserves required for the next day and for fire protection and other critical safety needs.
Last night alone, several dozen meters were shut off for violations of the watering restrictions, and approximately half of those violations occurred after midnight. This level of noncompliance is exactly why the restrictions must remain in place.
Going forward, RCH will continue enforcing these requirements. In addition to meters being shut off for violations, fines will be levied in accordance with RCH policies. Members are responsible for ensuring their irrigation systems are programmed for the correct days and hours.
We are asking for just a few more weeks of patience and cooperation while the connection lines to North Texas are completed. Once those connections are in service, RCH expects the current watering restrictions to be lifted and the system to have the additional supply needed to better serve our growing membership.
Until then, every member must follow the Stage 2 watering schedule. Continued violations place unnecessary strain on the system and jeopardize the reserves we are required to maintain for public safety.
If compliance does not improve immediately, RCH will be forced to move to Stage 3 water conservation measures by this weekend.
To the many members who are following the rules: thank you. Your cooperation is making a difference. We ask everyone to work together for these final few weeks so we can protect our water supply, maintain critical safety reserves, and get across the finish line.

Due to large amount of irrigation currently going on over the system we are forced to go out to stop and prevent the emergency levels that are going to happen. If found irrigation for yards is running we will be shutting off at the meter and flip cover over and mark with a blue flag. We will also be fining those who are not following mandatory rules in place. To those working to conserve and follow the rules we thank you for working together with the rest of the members.
