Working Together to Conserve Water This Summer

Dear Members,

As summer approaches and temperatures rise, it's more important than ever for everyone to be mindful of our water use. High seasonal demand places stress on our water supply, and your proactive efforts can help us delay—and possibly minimize—the need for water restrictions.

The good news is that relief is on the horizon. The Take Point construction project is progressing on schedule and is expected to be completed by next summer. Once operational, it will significantly enhance our system capacity. As a result, we anticipate that this will be the last summer where we’ll face the likelihood of major water restrictions.

In the meantime, conservation remains critical. Even modest changes in daily habits can have a big impact. Here are some simple ways to help:

  • Water Wisely: Water your lawn early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation.

  • Fix Leaks: Even small leaks can waste large amounts of water.

  • Upgrade Fixtures: Install low-flow toilets and showerheads to cut water use without sacrificing performance.

  • Be Efficient Indoors: Turn off the tap while brushing teeth and only run dishwashers and laundry machines when full.

Every drop saved helps protect our shared water resources and supports the entire community. With your help, we can stretch our supply and make it through this season with fewer restrictions.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to responsible water use.

Sincerely,

Robin Mayall
