RCH Construction Update – May 2025
May 16, 2025
Dear RCH Members,
I’m pleased to bring you the latest progress update on the RCH Take Point & Pump Station Project. As we kickoff the official construction start today, May 16, we’re seeing solid movement across all major components of the project, and I’m happy to confirm that we remain on schedule.
Current Highlights:
- Ground Storage Tank (GST):
Foundation submittals have been approved. While we are still waiting for Preload's full design package, Felix is actively exploring ways to accelerate this timeline. - Equipment & Materials:
- Valves, pumps, and electrical components have all been approved and released for manufacturing.
- Pumps will be stored off-site by the manufacturer until needed.
- The Backup Generator design is undergoing final revisions based on feedback from the Kaufman County Fire Marshal.
- Civil Yard Package:
Mesa Contracting has received its subcontract and is working through the remaining submittals. This package includes vital site prep work that will set the stage for vertical construction. - Meter Vault:
Design was completed on April 16, and the project is now ready for advertisement since May 7. - Pump Station:
Design completion is scheduled for May 20, with bid advertisement to follow on May 27. - Permitting:
- Permits for tank and civil work have been approved.
- The meter vault permit was submitted on April 16.
- A new permit for 6” boring under the road will be submitted this week.
- The pump station permit is scheduled for submittal later this month.
- Power Coordination:
- Temporary service agreements have been signed.
- Construction of temporary power by Oncor is expected to begin late May to early June, with permanent power installation planned between July and September.
- Transmission Line:
- The Transmission Line design and easements are now 100% complete. This 20-inch line will serve as the critical connection between the Take Point facilities and the broader RCH infrastructure. The project will go out to bid within the next 10 days, marking a significant step forward in bringing this system fully online.
Looking Ahead
With design work nearing completion, permits in hand, and equipment in production, we’re poised to move into the construction phase as planned. The next project meeting is scheduled for May 20, and we will continue to provide timely updates as key milestones are reached.
Thank you for your continued support as we deliver on this critical infrastructure investment for the RCH community.
Sincerely,
Robin Mayall
