New Chapter in Our Relationship with the City of McLendon-Chisholm

Dear Members,

We are pleased to share encouraging news about the evolving relationship between RCH Water Supply Corporation and the newly elected McLendon-Chisholm City Council. This marks the beginning of a more constructive and collaborative chapter—one rooted in mutual respect, transparency, and a shared commitment to serving the best interests of the city's taxpayers and our members.

At the May 9 special meeting, the City Council took significant steps to reset our partnership by formally repealing the franchise fee ordinance and reinstating the City’s water license agreement with RCH. These actions represent meaningful progress and demonstrate a clear commitment to rebuilding trust and prioritizing the long-term good of the community. These actions not only signal meaningful cooperation, but confirm that residents can now rely on their water service free of conflict or interruption.

RCH commends the new City Council for its willingness to take corrective action and revisit past decisions. We are encouraged by their leadership and look forward to working closely with them to resolve outstanding issues and focus on delivering reliable services to our members.

We want to be transparent about ongoing litigation. Legal action has never been our preferred approach. However, as a Board, we have a fiduciary duty to protect RCH and its members. When the previous council abruptly and unlawfully terminated the long-standing license agreement, putting a vital portion of RCH’s water system at risk, and declined to engage in mediation, we were left with no other viable option.

With new leadership in place and open lines of communication reestablished, we are optimistic that a resolution is within reach. RCH is committed to working in good faith to bring the lawsuit to a close so that both parties can redirect their resources toward initiatives that truly benefit the community.

Thank you for your continued trust in RCH.

Sincerely,

David Naylor
Board President, RCH
