Final Phase of Water Meter Replacement Begins Monday, January 27
January 24, 2025
Dear RCH Members,
We are excited to announce that the final phase of our water meter modernization project will begin on Monday, January 27. During this phase, the remaining 600 meters in our service area will be upgraded to the advanced ultrasonic Sonata meters.
Project Details:
- Phase 3 Start Date: Monday, January 27
- Duration: Approximately 2 weeks, depending on weather conditions
- Contractor: Mid Cimarron (the same trusted company that completed earlier phases)
Locations Include:
- High Point Lake Estates (remaining installations)
- FM 550 conjoining streets and neighborhoods
- FM 1139 conjoining streets and neighborhoods
- League Road
- Frontier Road
As with previous phases, work will involve a brief water service interruption of 10 to 15 minutes per household during the meter replacement process. Mid Cimarron technicians will clean out meter boxes, replace the meters, and document their work as they proceed.
Important Post-Replacement Guidance:
If your water meter was replaced today, please take the following steps to flush your cold water lines:
- Start the flush by turning on a cold water outdoor or bathtub faucet.
- Allow the water to run for approximately 5 minutes or until it comes through clean and free of air.
- Flushing is necessary to clear any particles or air that may have entered your plumbing during the meter replacement.
If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team for assistance.
This final step in our meter modernization project ensures that all RCH members will benefit from the improved accuracy, monitoring capabilities, and enhanced leak detection features of the new system.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we complete this important upgrade.
Warm regards,
Robin Mayall
