McLendon-Chisholm’s Renewed Attempt to Acquire RCH Water Supply Corp. – Your Voice is Needed
November 12, 2024
Dear RCH Members,
Tonight, the McLendon-Chisholm City Council will convene at 6:30 PM, and once again, their agenda includes a measure that directly affects RCH Water Supply Corporation and its many members.
This past September, in what appears to be an effort to pressure RCH and its members, council members Tucker, Day, Easter, and McLendon voted to terminate a valid contract with RCH that provides service to Sonoma Verde, sidestepping required mediation and risking costly legal ramifications. Now, just as this termination is about to take effect, these City Council members are discussing yet another acquisition attempt. This disregard for process and opposition has placed an increasing financial burden on RCH and, by extension, on you, the ratepayer (the taxpayers of McLendon-Chisholm are, in effect, paying the legal costs on both sides). Further, these actions have created an unnecessary risk to the continued water supply to Sonoma Verde residents.
The impact of these actions is clear: The council’s legal pursuits and repeated efforts to acquire RCH are inflating your water costs. The taxpayers’ voice has been loud and consistent; we need it heard again. The council must be reminded that RCH members within McLendon-Chisholm and beyond do not support this continual misuse of public resources.
Join us at the City Council meeting tonight. Stand with your neighbors to demand transparency and respect for the community’s will. Your presence and your voice are critical in this moment. Let’s show up and make it clear: this is not the will of the people, and we are paying the price.
Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2024
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: McLendon-Chisholm City Hall
Let’s stand united and insist that our council listen to the residents they serve.
Respectfully,
David Naylor
RCH Board President
