Take Point and State Highway 205 Project Updates

Dear RCH Members,

I’m pleased to share some exciting progress on the RCH Take Point & Pump Station Project as we move closer to the start of construction this spring. Thanks to the continued collaboration of our design and construction teams, the project remains on schedule, and momentum is building fast.

Key Updates:

  • Civil Work Ready to Begin
Bids for the civil yard package were received in February, and Mesa Contracting has officially been selected as the contractor. The subcontract has been issued, submittals are underway, and site activity will begin soon.

  • Water Source Secured
We’ve finalized an agreement with Poetry Water to provide a meter tap from a line across the road. This ensures our civil crews have the water they need to begin work on schedule, removing a key hurdle.

  • Equipment & Materials Arriving
Major equipment, including valves, vertical turbine pumps, and electrical systems, has been approved and released for manufacturing. Some parts have already begun arriving at the Felix warehouse, and pumps will be stored at the manufacturer’s facility until installation.

  • Design Work Nearing Completion

    • The Meter Vault design is complete, and bidding is expected to begin in early April.

    • The Pump Station design is also progressing, with completion expected by May 1 and bidding scheduled shortly thereafter.

    • Permit applications are tracking as planned, with submittals scheduled through April and May.

  • Power Supply Planning
Temporary and permanent power service coordination with Oncor is on track. Construction on those services is expected to begin in mid to late May.

Looking Ahead: Hwy 205 Project Update

In addition to the Take Point project, we’re also seeing major progress on the TxDOT Hwy 205 Relocation Project. This important infrastructure effort has:

  • Secured 99% of all required easements

  • Completed engineering

  • Incorporated system upgrades to support future water demands

Construction will begin in the coming months, positioning us for long-term reliability and growth.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as these projects move into their next phases. Thank you for your ongoing support as we invest in the future of RCH’s water infrastructure.

Sincerely,

Robin Mayall
